December 1st 2010 -

Okay so it's been awhile ... sorry about that.

Thankfulness and gratitude, sometimes I feel I am lacking on both fronts.

I must say however that I am trying to learn how to have a thankful mind and heart. It seems that life gets away with me and I don't take the time to count my blessings ... kind of like taking time to smell the roses as well.

My pledge to write about things that I am thankful for has gone out the window, however I will start anew.
I must train myself ... the more I do it, the more it will become habit and the more it will become 2nd nature. That is my ultimate goal ... to make gratitude and thankfulness such an intricate part of my life that it isn't even a thought it is instinct.

That being said.

I am thankful that I now have a new house to move into.
I am thankful that I have such wonderful people in my life who have offered to help me move yet again.

I am so blessed, I have a great job, wonderful kids, a van that gets me where I need to go ...

KMT

I am so thankful for Kersley Musical Theatre and what they do for the community and my family.

My 3 oldest children auditioned today for this year's production "The Music Man".
I am so excited about what this season will provide my kids. This group is such an awesome influence on everybody that is involved in it.

Thank you so much KMT for all you offer us!

Today I am thankful for the wonderful chat I got to have with a beautiful lady.
It was only about a 1/2 an hour - but it made my day.
Janice you truly are an inspirational and uplifting lady.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day and spending a bit of it with me.

Much love to you always...

Transforming What Hurts Into What Helps

So this is the challenge ...

Put forward by SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy)

2. Transforming What Hurts Into What Helps

Share one thing in your life that's challenging or

difficult, and one thing that you're glad about that challenge or difficulty. Something like this:
"I sometimes feel overwhelmed with all there is to do in my life and business, and am glad that I am healthy and able to do things" That reminds us of the "marvelous, messy middle" of feelings. I call it "Practical Gladness" This will further develop your transformational abilities.

My biggest challenge lately is my dear 15 year old son.
Being a single parent is a tough enough but trying to help a young boy grow into a man when the main male influences in his life have been not the greatest role models is difficult to
say the least. He is my only son and there are times I'm not sure what to do.

Recently he has been suspended from school, and been AWOL from home for several hours.
I am thankful however, that with these recent activities he has been grounded and under stricter restrictions.

With these restrictions he has been much more involved in all the family activities, he asks to hang out with the rest of the family, to play cards, a board game, watch a movie ... he has recently tried to teach himself piano working through the beginner books we have at home. We've had a lot of chances to talk and share and I hope to develop a better relationship with him.

I love you Brennden!

Hey - guess what! I woke up today!!!

Blessed ~ Martina Mcbride

I get kissed by the sun
Each morning
Put my feet on a hardwood floor
I get to hear my children laughing
Down the hall through the
Bedroom door
Sometimes I sit on my
Front porch swing
Just soaking up the day
I think to myself, I think to myself
This world is a beautiful place

I have been blessed
And I feel like I’ve found my way
I thank God for all I’ve been given

At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones
That love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed

Across a crowded room,
I know you know what I’m thinking
By the way I look at you
And when we’re lying in the quiet and
No words have to be said
I think to myself, I think to myself
This love is a beautiful gift

I have been blessed
And I feel like I’ve found my way
I thank God for all I’ve been given

At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones
That love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed

When I’m singing my kids to sleep
When I feel you holding me
I know

I have been blessed
And I feel like I’ve found my way
I thank God for all I’ve been given

At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones
That love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed

My Pledge ...

I pledge to post one unique thing that I am thankful for at least 3 days each and every week.

I pledge to look for and recognize things to be thankful for each and every day.

I pledge to say thank you to at least one person every day for doing something for me or for somebody I care about no mater how small an action it seems to them or me.

I pledge that every time I complain about something I will find something to be thankful about - either in that same situation or about something that I can see may result from that situation.

These things I pledge on this day, November 11th, 2010.

Today I am thankful for freedom and the sacrifices that were made in order for me to have that freedom.
Thank you to all soldiers and their families. We citizens cannot imagine what sacrifices you have made for us.

In Flanders Fields Poem

By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
